Mysuru: In a major breakthrough, Mysuru police have solved a high-profile robbery involving 16 kg of silver looted from a premises under Hebbalu Police Station limits. The gang behind the heist had tied up security guards and escaped with the silver, aided by an insider — a former driver of the property owner.
The investigation revealed that the driver, struggling with debt, had reached out to a well-known criminal from Gujarat to execute the plan. Acting on scientific evidence and intelligence inputs, police traced the prime accused to Disha village in Banaskantha district, Gujarat, and arrested him.
So far, seven individuals have been taken into custody. One suspect remains at large, and search operations are underway to track him down.
City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar confirmed the arrests and commended the team’s swift and strategic action.
